As the world leader in High Pressure Processing (HPP) technology, Hiperbaric has recently introduced a new initiative, the HPP Research Awards. Now in its second edition this initiative is aimed at recognizing and rewarding students and academia professionals who have made scientific contributions to the food & beverage industry with their high pressure processing research. The HPP Research Awards are part of the fourth edition of HPP Innovation Week, an online conference that brings together leading industry experts to discuss the latest trends and applications of HPP technology taking place from June 18 – 20.

Open to students and academia professionals

HPP Research Awards aim to recognize the contributions of researchers to the field of High Pressure Processing for food and beverages, where the technology plays a relevant role in their submitted projects.

HPP Research Awards are open to students and academia professionals from all over the world who have completed undergraduate, graduate or postdoctoral research in the field of HPP. Students, postdoctoral researchers and young professionals who obtained their degree between 2020 and 2024 are eligible to participate. Submission of applications is open until May 10, 2024. These awards represent a unique opportunity for young talent to give visibility to their work and connect with leaders in the food industry. “We aim to encourage innovation and help build a safer and more sustainable food system by acknowledging the efforts of researchers in the HPP field,” said Hiperbaric CEO, Andrés Hernando.

Winners will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to present their project during HPP Innovation Week. The awards ceremony will take place on June 19, during the second day of  HPP Innovation Week, providing the winners with a unique platform to showcase their work.

4th Annual HPP Innovation Week

HPP Innovation Week, an online conference that focuses on High Pressure Processing technology, is set to take place for the fourth consecutive year from June 18 to 20. The virtual event is aimed at showcasing the significant impact of HPP on the safety and quality of food and beverages, under the slogan “Raising the bar for Food Safety, Quality & Clean Label Products”. It will also serve as a platform for the dissemination of technology to promote innovation in the food industry.

 

 

The three-day program will revolve around HPP Innovation, a cornerstone at Hiperbaric. Among the topics to be discussed will be the nutrition and sensory quality of HPP products; food safety and shelf life extension of HPP-treated foods, as well as the sustainability benefits of Hiperbaric’s high-pressure technology, such as the enabling of circular food systems and automation of industrial processes.

The program agenda will include panel discussions, interviews, individual presentations, and chats with HPP experts. The event will bring together manufacturers, marketers, tollers, users of the technology, academic and regulatory leaders, and HPP suppliers. The previous three editions of HPP Innovation Week had 6,000 online attendees from 60 countries.
