HPP Innovation Week 2022 is the virtual event on High Pressure Processing (HPP) technology, organized by Hiperbaric, the global leader and manufacturer of HPP equipment.

Under the slogan, «Nutrition, Food Safety & Sustainability for the Food & Beverage Industry», HPP experts in the industry will share the latest innovations, trends, and research on HPP.

Hiperbaric will also present the HPP Research Awards, which will recognize academic leaders and their research in the three categories: Nutrition, Food Safety, and Sustainability.

Topics To Be Discussed This Year

Day 1


HPP preserves the nutritional and organoleptic characteristics of food products while enabling a clean label. Manufacturers will share firsthand their experience using HPP technology and how it has allowed them to develop nutritional products.

Day 2

Food Safety

HPP inactivates pathogens and spoilage microorganisms guaranteeing food safety, protecting your brand against recalls, and meeting the requirements of the strictest food authorities. Discover how food manufacturers protect their brand using HPP.

HPP is a sustainable technology. With an increased shelf-life, food waste is diminished. Also, energy and water consumption is much lower compared to other methods and it is compatible with circular economy strategies and allows sustainable packaging solutions.

HPP Research Awards

Hiperbaric actively contributes to the dissemination of the latest scientific advances on High Pressure Processing (HPP), providing the food industry with valuable insights that enable the adoption of HPP technology for the development of highly nutritious and safe food products. 

To acknowledge researchers for their contributions in the field, Hiperbaric will host the HPP Research Awards during HPP Innovation Week 2022.

The HPP Research Awards are open to graduate and undergraduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and young professionals, with a graduation date between 2018 and 2022, that have published applied research on HPP.

Sensory and nutritional quality of HPP products, including nutritional bioavailability and stability during storage, sensory analysis, and valorization of products post-extraction.

Category 2

Food Safety & Shelf Life Extension

Pathogens and spoilage microorganisms inactivation studies, both immediately after treatment and later throughout the shelf life of the food and beverage product.

Category 3

Sustainability & Product Development

Assessment of sustainability and/or product development process using high-pressure technology, including life cycle assessment (LCA) studies of HPP products.
